SUSPECT: ALFRED ROBINSON, AGE 43 OF VICTORVILLE
SUMMARY:
On Wednesday, August 18th, 2010, at approximately 1:23 p.m., Deputy Eric Stoll was dispatched to an area check of Eagle Ranch Park. Two parents reported to the school that a male suspect attempted to kidnap their children. When Deputy Stoll arrived to check the area, the parents and suspect had gone.
On Thursday, August 19th, 2010, Eagle Ranch School warned of the possible attempt kidnapping, via an automatic call list to the student's parents. Later that day, at approximately 1:03 p.m., the school reported the suspect had returned. Deputy Stoll arrived and made contact with the suspect who refused to give good identification. Deputy Stoll took the suspect to the Victor Valley Jail where his identity was learned by other means and suspect Robinson was booked on charges of PC148.9-False identification to a law enforcement officer.
Through further investigation and witness statements it was learned that the on Wednesday at the park, the suspect took the hand of a 4 year-old child and began walking away from the child's parent. The parent shouted for them to stop, the suspect released the child's hand, allowing her to return to her mom. Minutes later the suspect made contact with another small child in the playground. The father reportedly felt the contact to be suspicious and inappropriate and immediately removed his child from the playground. At that time both parents went to the school to report the incident.
Deputy Stoll has subsequently added the charges of PC664/207- Attempt kidnapping and PC 236-False Imprisonment to the booking of suspect Alfred Robinson.
